An agentic application is a legal workflow that AtlasAI agents run from the first request to the finished work product. AtlasAI pauses for an attorney at each decision that requires legal judgment. Agentic applications are part of AtlasAI Professional.
A faster lawyer does not make a faster firm
Most legal AI products make one lawyer faster. You draft sooner, review more documents and finish research in less time. Those products are useful, and AtlasAI chat, drafting and research serve the same work every day.
The lawyer is one part of a longer process. Consider an NDA request. The client emails the counterparty's draft to the firm. A paralegal opens the matter and checks every party for conflicts. An associate marks up the draft against your playbook and sends the markup to the client. A partner approves the exceptions. After both parties sign, someone files the signed NDA in iManage and enters the expiry date on the matter.
The associate's markup is one of five steps. Make the associate twice as fast, and the client still waits through the other four steps and every handoff between the steps.
The models can already do the work
Current frontier models can read a draft, compare the draft with a playbook, check a list of parties and draft the email to the client. The engineering problem is the connection between the models and your firm. The connection covers your documents and matters, the systems your firm uses, the rules each practice follows and the approval each step requires.
We believe most of the value in legal AI will come from that connection. We built agentic applications to make the connection for each workflow your firm runs.
Build in chat
Describe the workflow in chat, the way you would explain the work to a new associate. AtlasAI builds each step on the workflow canvas, with the inputs, the documents for each step, the instructions, the checks and the output. Edit any step on the canvas, test the workflow on a real matter and publish the workflow to your firm.
Connect any system
When you add a step for a system that AtlasAI does not connect to yet, AtlasAI reads the system's API documentation. AtlasAI then shows you the exact steps to connect the system, and you connect the system with a sign-in button. AtlasAI refuses any password or API key pasted into the builder chat.
New tools in code
When no tool performs a step, AtlasAI writes a new tool in code and tests the tool in a sandbox. Each run of the tool starts in a fresh, isolated sandbox.
Administrator approval
Your firm administrator approves each new tool before anyone at your firm runs the tool. When AtlasAI revises an approved tool, your firm keeps using the approved version until the administrator approves the revision.
Parallel agents
AtlasAI agents run independent steps at the same time, across every document in the matter. Run a workflow on demand or on a schedule. AtlasAI also starts a workflow when a client submits a form, when your firm opens a matter or before a key date. AtlasAI applies your firm's iManage permissions and ethical walls to every step and logs every step.
You decide
When a decision belongs to an attorney, AtlasAI pauses the run and asks the attorney. The attorney answers in the run, and AtlasAI agents continue from the same step. You approve each message before AtlasAI sends the message.
Your attorneys make the decisions
Many matters still need an attorney working through the problem with AI, and AtlasAI chat, drafting and research serve those matters. Agentic applications serve the workflows your firm repeats every week: NDA requests, client intake, lease abstraction, regulatory monitoring and data room review.
